Betaine anhydrous, or TMG (Trimethylglycine) is known to facilitate methylation processes. Methylation is a normal biological process that is critical for DNA repair, liver detoxification mechanisms, lipid metabolism, and the production of SAMe. It is also an important step in the conversion of homocysteine, a damaging amino acid, into a friendlier amino acid, methionine. Supplementation with TMG has been shown in clinical and non-clinical studies to support healthy homocysteine levels already within normal range.
Suggested use
Take 1-3 tablets twice daily, preferably with food.

Trimethylglycine Supports Liver Health, Fights Heart Disease and Promotes DNA Repair
Trimethylglycine, also known as Betaine, is an amino acid that aids in liver function, fighting heart disease, and to help the body process fats properly. Trimethylglycine helps the body detox harmful toxins and chemicals from the body, that otherwise would have caused damage to the digestive tract. Trimethylglycine is also responsible for converting homocysteine, a harmful amino acid, into a more beneficial amino acid called methionine. Supplementing with NOW Food’s Trimethylglycine will promote healthy Methylation levels, which is crucial for DNA repair and liver health.

What Is Trimethylglycine?
Trimethylglycine (TMG), also known as Betaine, is a non-toxic, vitamin-like amino acid that is produced naturally in the body. Trimethylglycine is also a nutrient commonly referred to as a “methyl donor”. Methyl donors are responsible for carrying methyl molecules around the body, which is essential for DNA repair and healthy cell reproduction. However, our bodies don’t produce enough of Trimethylglycine on its own or through regular diet. This means proper supplementation and regular consumption of TMG-rich foods can be very beneficial for the body. Trimethylglycine can be found in foods such as dark leafy greens, broccoli, and beets. The problem is that the areas these foods grow in areas where certain toxic metals and preservatives interfere with Trimethylglycine’s ability to work properly as a methyl donor, which can result in a variety of health issues. Taking NOW Foods’ Trimethylglycine supplement can not only provide your body with all natural TMG, but also works to safely rid those harmful toxins from your body that is found in most of our food today.
Why Is Liver Health Important?
Having a healthy liver can lead to a wide variety of benefits including increased energy, glowing skin, stronger immunity, a clearer mind, and better digestion. Common lifestyle choices like poor diet, smoking, alcohol consumption, exposure to air pollution and chemical household products and even high levels of stress can all have negative impacts on your liver health. An unhealthy liver can bring upon discomforting symptoms such as chronic fatigue, weight loss, issues with concentration, confusion, constipation, bloating and frequent loss of appetite. Since the liver performs so many functions throughout the body, disorders associated with metabolism, digestion, hormones and immunity can all affect liver function. We need to constantly nourish our liver with whole foods and beneficial nutrients like Trimethylglycine to keep it functioning properly and prevent these unwanted symptoms from occurring. It is the liver’s responsibility to detect potentially harmful substances in the body and convert them into harmless material that can be released from the body. Our liver is the most vulnerable, yet one the most powerful organs in the body. We need to constantly take proper care of our liver functioning properly and prevent these unwanted symptoms from occurring. The best way to take care of your liver is to frequently incorporate high-antioxidant fruits, leafy greens, cruciferous vegetables, fermented foods, fresh herbs, apple cider vinegar, green tea and fresh honey, as well as daily supplementing with NOW Food’s Trimethylglycine supplements for added liver support!
